How do we get to LANDS END RESORT from
the airport?
Easy: the airport is about 7 miles from the resort. Cabs meet
every flight at the airport, and the fee is a standard $15
US.
We have a favorite driver who has a large, clean van; and
we can arrange for him to meet you if you wish. Please let
us know your flight number and arrival time.
How far is it from LANDS END to town, restaurants, shopping,
and night life?
Less than 5 minutes to good restaurants. 10 minutes from the
center of West End Village. And in 1 mile you’ve “seen
it all”
Do you have a generator?
We have a small generator for emergencies only.
What about dive packages?
Westend has about 10 dive shops; from the small personal operation
to the 3 boat, 10 staff dive centers.
The Westend diveshops have a price agreement. Make your choice
according to service, the shop and the staff.
I recommend visiting several dive operations, talk with the
staff, and select the one which suits your particular needs.
How far is the beach?
There is a fine beach at Half Moon Bay (5min walk) West Bay
Beach is several miles from West End Village, but cabs (10US$)
and water taxis (2US$) can take you there. Most of the beaches
become crowded on “cruise ship days” and holidays.
Our beach here at LANDS END , though man-made, is limited
to the use of our guests; and is, thus, private and never
crowded.
Can I put extra people in our room?
To maintain the privacy and ambiance of LANDS END RESORT we
limit occupancy to two persons per room. We can make exceptions
for a third adult family member by adding a twin to one of
the King rooms. Please ask well in advance since our ability
to do this is limited.
What is there to do if I don’t dive?
LOTS. The Botanical Gardens. The Canopy Tour. The Butterfly
Garden. Dolphin Encounter. Snorkeling. Shopping. Sunbathing.
Relaxing. All are close by.
How can we tour the island?
There are several companies that offer tours. Rental cars
and mopeds are also available close by.
Can we visit the mainland?
Easily. There is a ferry that makes twice daily trips to La
Cieba ($20 one way) There are also several flights daily for
about $70US.
Can we visit the other Islands?
There are several sail boat charters on the island. Sailboat
Elisabeth Nina II, a 39ft catamaran takes you to Utila on
a weekly basis. Boats to Barbaretta and Guanaja can be chartered.
